Tech Lead, System Engineer

We are seeking a software engineer to manage the dynamic Yahoo! Search Marketing enterprise wide software application suite. Yahoo! Search Marketing Software Operations Engineers work on a team dedicated to addressing application performance, security, and stability issues. Engineers work in a cross-functional environment including development, networking, hosting systems, database, application servers and web serving. Knowledge and understanding of each layer, especially software design, is a critical factor for success.

Skills/Requirements: 
Application monitoring/instrumentation experience.
Experience with Unix or equivalent knowledge (Linux, Solaris, BSD).
Technical or business operations experience in a 24x7 environment (Production)
Oracle and MySQL experience.
Networking experience troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, DNS, level 4 to level 7 Load balancing)
Experience with successful implementations of complex, highly scalable and highly available systems in a multi-tier environment.
Demonstrated software development, Operations and/or architecture experience.
Detailed knowledge configuring/debugging Application Servers such as Web logic, JBoss.
Demonstrable experience in one or more languages such as: Java or C
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of modern software systems engineering and experience in building and operating distributed component-based software solutions.
Experience with data management, relational and object-oriented data systems. Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills.
Functions/Responsibilites: 
Work in a team to categorize, prioritize and resolve software application issues, dealing with all levels of Yahoo! Search Marketing's corporate and enterprise infrastructure.
Develop appropriate applications architecture that sustains Yahoo! Search Marketing's high standards of availability and performance.
Responsible for working with and coordinating the necessary development and technical operations teams to solve application performance, security, and stability issues.
Function as 3rd tier escalation team for enterprise application issues and manage the resolution of issues.
