Skills/Requirements:

BSCS, MSCS or related educational background preferred
8+ years of applicable experience with past 3 or more years in web related application development, preferably consumer oriented products.
Expertise in Java programming and debugging environment
Expertise in Web Service architectures using REST/SOAP/equivalent
Strong understanding and experience with object oriented programming
Strong XML/XSLT and Web Services experience
Strong Multithreaded programming experience
RDBMS experience (Oracle, MySQL)
Linux/Unix, Apache experience
Scripting (PHP, JavaScript)
Excellent debugging and testing skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Functions/Responsibilites: 
This position requires an experienced Software Engineer to join the Yahoo! Video Platform Engineering team.
This team is responsible for providing highly efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable solutions for various Content Acquisition/Workflow, Processing/Transcoding, Live Video Delivery, and Analytics platforms.
The team is responsible for providing innovative solutions for large scale distribution of rich media content on the web, mobile, and Connected TV devices.
Innovation and improvement over the existing implementations is the key focus of the team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Video Platform products.
