Yahoo! is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Software QA Engineer with strong technical and QA background to participate in the release of Yahoo! Communication products such as Mail and Messenger on handheld devices. You will review product specification, define test strategy, execute test plans, and set up & manage test environment and equipment. Skills/Requirements:
Solid 3+ years of outstanding track record as a QA engineer with strong technical skills.
Experience in testing application on mobile / smartphone devices (iPhone, Symbian, Palm, or other)
Experience in high level and/or scripting languages (eg. Unix Shell Script, Javascript, PHP, Perl).
Expert in setting up, managing lab, test environments, and equipment,
In depth understanding of all major OS (Unix / Window / Mac )
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Self-starter, team player, highly organized, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in HTML, HTML5 and XML.
Expert in QA methodologies, procedures & documentation.
Knowledge of software development life cycle.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience in WebKit Engine
Experience in developing QA automation framework and tools (eg. PHPUnit, Selenium, TestNG).
Experience in Web Services – API testing.
Functions/Responsibilites:
You will utilize your problem solving and experience in testing mobile applications to certify Y!Mail and Y!Messenger on myriad of mobile devices and OS.
In addition to functional testing of Mail and Messenger, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining test environments, and implementing best practices in a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of releasing solid products, ability write new tools, automate manual tasks, work with remote teams, and an ability to work independently.
