Yahoo! Mail is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Software QA Engineer with strong technical and QA background to participate in the release of Yahoo! Mail projects. You will define test strategy, execute test plans, review product specifications, and define/select appropriate test tools and automation strategy. Skills/Requirements:
Solid 5+ years of outstanding track record as a developer and/or writing UI Automation scripts.
5+ years in Java or other major languages such as C, C++
5+ years in scripting languages (eg. Unix Shell Script, Javascript, PHP, Perl).
3+ years in developing QA automation framework and tools (eg. PHPUnit, Selenium, TestNG).
Experience in Unix operating system.
Experience in testing AJAX, HTML, XML and CSS.
Experience in Web Services – API testing.
Expert in QA methodologies, procedures & documentation.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Customer-focused, ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work independently or with teams and being able to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
Self-starter, team player, highly organized, infrastructure and process-oriented.
Knowledge of software development life cycle.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience in load and performance testing of web applications (eg. JMeter, LoadRunner).
Experience in Continuous Integration tools (eg. Hudson).
Experience in Code Coverage tools (eg. JSCV, PHPUnit).
Experience in White Box (Unit Testing)
Experience in leading teams utilizing technical, leadership, and communication skills.
Experience in backend server and/or system level programming is a plus.
Experience in Web Monitoring, Profiling, is a plus.
Experience in Web Application Security testing is a plus.
Experience working with remote development and QA teams.
Functions/Responsibilites:
You will utilize your problem solving and programming skills to build tools and create test scripts used for UI Automation for enhancing efficiency in different stages of product cycle.
You will work on interesting, challenging and unique problems in Yahoo! Mail.
You will also work closely with a team of onsite and offsite QA engineers. Other tasks include functional, load and performance and large data migration testing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leveraging automation, developing new tools/automated test suites, evaluating test coverage, providing high-quality feedback on the state of the product while building a strong working relationship with the development team.
