The Tiger Team at Yahoo is dedicated to providing highly skilled, senior engineers to a variety of high priority, challenging projects. Tigers perform as an internal professional-services team, providing short-to-medium term engineering to dedicated product engineering teams that have critical game-changing projects. In the past our engineers have contributed to highly visible products and business deals in Y! Social, Y! Mail, Y! Front Page, Y! Search, Y! Finance, Y! Sports, and several key infrastructure teams.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who likes a dynamic environment and assignments that change every 6-8 months. As a member of the team you will get wide exposure to a variety of Yahoo's products. Due to the rapidly changing team environment, strong communications and teamwork skills are a must.

Skills/Requirements:
BSCS/MSCS (preferred)
5-7+ years as a top notch engineer, building high-scale SaaS systems in a nix environment
2+ years as a project technical leader
A proven track-record of technical leadership, including responsibility for design or architecture
Excellent command of OOP principles and patterns (Java, C++, PHP)
Experience designing and deploying horizontally scalable architecture that leveraged noSQL or RDBMS based backing stores
Good development-process skills: structured design documentation, build processes, coding styles, testing frameworks, etc.
Demonstrated ability to identify and take opportunities for code re-use
Experience with building and leveraging massively scalable distributed platforms
Familiar with noSQL architecture (Cassandra, Hadoop, PIG etc) and Map-Reduce
Designed and deployed multi-region logical/physical architecture
Interest and demonstrated ability to work in complex team environments, with evolving team membership
Prior experience in consulting role.
