The Yahoo! Service Engineering team is looking for an experienced Sr. Internet Systems Engineer with strong development skills for Integrated Consumer Experience (ICE) Team. One of Yahoo's key competitive advantages is the 500MM users that visit us every month, and the relationships they build with us and other users across our network through FrontPage, Buzz, Profile, MyYahoo, Toolbar, IM, Blogs, etc. Integrated Consumer Experience (ICE) provides the key functionality to manage relationships, establish a reputation, highlight your friends' recent activities on the network, and allow the entire company to leverage our community knowledge to deliver better, more relevant and engaging products for our users. The individual in this position will work with others in the team to manage all aspects of the engineering and network operations across several Yahoo Properties.
The scope of this position will include application maintenance, configuration processes, systems troubleshooting, capacity planning, and business continuity. Above all the successful candidate will ensure that we are delivering the most reliable and highest quality service attainable.
The ideal candidate would have a strong background in systems administration, web applications, infrastructure services and posses a solid understanding of the development and build lifecycle.
The Service Engineering and Operation group provides a set of platforms that allow other Yahoo! properties to provide Integrated Consumer Experience, and personalized content to their users in an extremely high performance and high availability manner.

Skills/Requirements:
Substantial experience administering and performance-tuning of UNIX Systems, Apache, MySQL, Perl, DB, network latency, etc
Good knowledge of release engineering tools and processes
Prior experience with a 24x7, high-availability, broadly distributed production environment
Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking, load-balancers, DNS and caching
Good Project Management Skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong Problem Solving Skills in UNIX-Systems environment.
Apache, MySQL, DNS, routers, switches, load balancers, VIPs, Akamai.
Scripting in shell, Perl or PHP, regular expressions.
Experience working in a team environment
Prior System Administration and Web Administration Experience
Developing Monitoring infrastructure for applications monitoring.
Prior experience in developing capacity planning and bench marking infrastructure
Performance Tuning (UNIX, Networking, Web)
Prior experience with Security and abuse related issues.
UNIX core dump analysis
Prior development experience
10 plus years of industry experience
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Functions/Responsibilites:
Deeply understand internet services and update systems configurations to enhance reliability and performance.
Requires heavy hands on involvement contributing in scripting/automation and large scale web server farms in various CoLos.
Work closely with the Developers and QA team to ensure efficiency on product releases.
Deploy a fully automated build/package/verify/push cycle for all principal components.
