We're looking for an outstanding Database Administrator who will play a major role in the development and maintenance of MySQL databases. The candidate will be responsible for managing MySQL databases in Development/QA/Production Linux environments. Our Service Delivery Team is expanding and maintaining a high performance, high availability infrastructure to deliver our mobile web services applications. The ideal candidate will possess a breadth of hands-on experience with maintaining 24x7x365 database environments, and will bring to bear a sense of excellence and diligence.

Skills/Requirements: 
8+ years of production DBA experience
Solid tuning experience with SQL, MySQL, and Oracle RAC
Solid experience in database security, backup, recovery, and archival concepts and procedures.
Familiarity with ETL processes and operations.
Understand the interaction between the database and the SAN. Knowledge of SAN specific database tuning techniques. Experience with hot backups through SAN snapshot technology.
Experience with Nagios monitoring software.
Used to working with Enterprise ticketing systems. BMC Remedy experience a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical employees and with vendors of system related products.
Strong problem solving, testing, and network troubleshooting skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation for the relationship between system reliability and company success.
Comfort working in a truly international company, as many teams on this project are in Finland and India.
B.S. Computer Science or related technology preferred or equivalent experience.
Functions/Responsibilites: 
Manage MySQL in Development/QA/Production environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, replication, upgrades, schema changes, etc.
Perform database health monitoring and diagnostics.
Integrate monitoring, auditing, and alert systems for databases with existing monitoring infrastructure.
Design, implement, maintain and automate the appropriate backup and recovery architecture required.
Experience in working in Production environments requiring 99.9% availability.
Occasional off-shift availability to resolve Production issues or assist in Production deployments. On-call duties will be shared with the Operations Team.
Work closely with other members of the Operations Team, mentor others in your areas of expertise, and be an active contributing member of the company as a whole.
