Skills/Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required
Java certification or J2EE enterprise architect certification a plus
5-7 years overall technical experience (2-5 years in senior technical role)
Expert level understanding of Java, core J2EE components, JVM statistics, and JVM tuning (preferably on WebSphere Application Server)
Experience designing applications using a SOA approach
Experience with large implementations of J2EE technologies
Experience with WebSphere, WAS and WCBE experience is a plus
Experience with application code profiling tools and algorithmic analysis
Website experience with JSP, XML, and HTML
Proficient with relational database management systems; preferably DB2
Coding proficiency in the following: Unix Shell, SQL, Java, JavaScript, XML
Experience with one or more operating system, AIX and Red Hat Linux experience is preferred
Knowledge of business processes concentrated around E-Commerce applications
Ability to work in a diverse team environment and across multiple IS teams and business units (Retail, Supply Chain, etc)
Ability to motivate and mentor other team members
Ability to adapt to change and take on new responsibilities

Functions/Responsibilites:
Work closely with the Business and other areas of IS to understand and lead the technical execution of client's projects to achieve our part of the Contracts goal
Assure execution of projects as a senior member of the development team
Ensure that the team adheres to best practices from both a technical standards and process standpoint
Ensure that technical design reviews and code reviews are performed
Provide general support and maintenance of build releases and day-to-day and project support and supporting applications
Ensure compliance with SDLC and client systems management policies
Ensure there is clear ownership (accountability/responsibility) to drive as well as resolve immerging streams of system development, integration, support and maintenance complexities
Establish and sustain a high level of partnership with the Business by using one's technical knowledge to suggest and deliver solutions to business opportunities
Proactively monitor business and system trends, identifying to management the key risks and opportunities
Understand and help execute the technical roadmap developed including adjustments as needed based on business environment and priorities
Serve as an escalation point for technical design decisions within the context of project scope
Build new best practices and new standards and ensure compliance and consensus before implementing
